TRANSPORT

 

For the direct air transport from European towns to Bratislava the following companies can be employed:

Very convenient is the connection via Vienna airport Schwechat where most international Airlines land. Airport Schwechat is situated only 45 km of Bratislava. At Schwechat, you may rent a car or take the bus. Bus connection (65 min duration) is operated by Eurolines (http://www.eurolines.sk/, every hour from 8.25 a.m to 11.25 p.m., from Schwechat to Bratislava Bus terminal and by Blaguss (http://www.blaguss.sk/ba_wien.php), four runs a day from Schwechat to Nový Most (New Bridge) - in the very city center. Cost of one-way ticket is 9 EUR (Eurolines) and 3.6 EUR (Blaguss). The taxi costs about 50 EUR.

            Bratislava can be easily reached from Vienna City also by train (http://www.zsr.sk) (several direct trains a day), and by speed boats on the Danube (homepages http://www.lod.sk) and http://www.twincityliner.com.

 

 

 

Public transport

 

          Bratislava has an integrated city transport system (buses, trams and trolleybuses, http://www.imhd.sk/ba/). Tickets must be purchased in advance and punched inside the tram, bus or T-bus. The ticket includes transfers within the time of validity. Tickets (14 SKK for a ten minute ride, 18 SKK for a 30 min ride and 22 SKK for a 60 min ride) are on sale in ticket machines on selected stops, at newspaper stands and tobacco shops, at hotel reception desks, in restaurants, at railway stations, at the airport, etc. but not in the buses and trams. The daily and weekly passes for the city transport can be bought at the railway – and bus station. When buying the tickets from dispensing machines at the stops, please, be ready to pay with coins. The penalty for travellers without valid ticket is 1400 SKK.

Bratislava Airport M.R. Štefánika (terminal stop) - Hlavná stanica (Main Railway Station) (terminal stop); bus # 61; duration 25 min; operates each 15 minutes on worksdays/20 minutes on weeks from 4:45 a.m. till 11:45 p.m.

 

Hlavná stanica (Main Railway Station) (terminal stop) - Šafranová ulica (Safranova street) (terminal stop) bus # 41; ride duration 8 min. Operates each 15-30 minutes on workdays/30 minutes on weekends from 5:10 a.m. till 10:45 p.m.

 

Autobusová stanica (terminal stop) (Main Bus Station - Bus terminal Mlynské Nivy), trolleybus  #206; ride duration 7 min. Operates each 12 (30) minutes on workdays (weekends) from 5:07 a.m. till 8:07 p.m.

 

Hodžovo námestie (Hodza Square) - Búdková cesta (Budkova Road - stop for SUZA, 7 min walking distance); Trolleybuses # 203 and 207. Both operate each 12 (15) minutes on workdays (weekends) from 5:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m.

 

Taxi from Airport to SUZA Hotel costs about 500 SKK (14 EUR).

From Hodžovo námestie (Hodza Square) trolleybes #203 and 207 to stop Partizánska ulica (street) ride duration 3 min. From stop Partizánska to SUZA - trolleybus #203 and 207 to stop Búdková cesta (road) - stop to SUZA, 4 min ride.
